How much does Ciel Therapies charge for therapy?

As there are a number of different mental health programs available (Medicare, private fee paying, NDIS etc.) which you may be referred under, please contact us so we can discuss your situation and provide you with accurate and up to date fees.



Does Ciel Therapies provide services under Medicare and how do I access these?

Yes, Ciel Therapies is an approved provider of services under Medicare. To receive a Medicare rebate when seeing an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, you will require a Mental Health Care Plan and referral letter from a General Practitioner (GP), or a referral letter from a psychiatrist.

Missed Appointments and Cancellations

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Clients are responsible for missed appointments and late cancellations. Except in a true medical emergency or natural disaster, clients are responsible for the fee if the appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or if the client does not show for the scheduled appointment.


What is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker?

Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AMHSWs) are recognised providers with Medicare Australia and other programs, delivering clinical social work services in mental health settings and utilising a range of evidence-based strategies. Under Medicare, Social Workers and general psychologists provide the same mental health support to clients.


AMHSWs work with people across the lifespan (including children, adults and older persons) and provide a unique contribution to the mental health space in their holistic approach to working with a person. The advanced training that is expected of AMHSW prepares and provides them with the skills for working with people with very complex presentations and co-morbidities. AMHSWs are highly trained and educated professionals, meeting some of the highest standards of professional regulation in Australia.


Accredited Mental Health Social Workers have a breadth of experience in assessing and treating people who have mental health disorders, for example people with:


  • Depression and other mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Psychosis
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Relationship problems
  • Life crises
  • Adjustment issues

Accredited Mental Health Social Workers are able to diagnose, assess and treat a wide range of mental health concerns within their professional scope of practice.


They help individuals to resolve presenting psychological problems, the associated social and other environmental problems, and improve their quality of life. This may involve family as well as individual counselling, and group therapy. Social workers recognise the broader implications of an individual having a mental illness and the impact on friends, family, work and education.

What is Tuning into Kids/Tuning into Teens?


Tuning in to Kids/Tuning into Teens is a suite of parenting programs that focus on the emotional connection between parents/carers and their children, from pre-schoolers to teens. The evidence-based programs have proven success in improving parenting, parent-child relationships and children’s emotional competence and behaviour.


It’s is a program for parents/carers that is run in six sessions and helps kids and teens develop emotional intelligence. Parents learn to understand their children’s emotions and behaviours better and learn to communicate effectively with their children. Therefore, parents will be able to help their kids/teens to manage difficult emotions and behaviours.
